About Theresa Hudson
Some people write stories. Theresa Hudson writes hope.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Theresa learned early that life rarely follows a straight path. As the middle child between two spirited, fiercely independent sisters, she developed the resilience, optimism, and quiet determination that would become the hallmark of both her career and her writing.
When the 1970s offered young women only a handful of expected career choices, Theresa happily ignored the script. She chose the road less travelled, dedicating more than four decades as a pediatric physiotherapist helping children and adolescents with cerebral palsy and other neurological challenges discover not only what they could do, but what they could become.
Every child she met became a teacher. Every family became an inspiration.
Watching parents celebrate a first independent step, an outstretched hand, or a long-awaited smile convinced Theresa that life’s greatest victories are rarely measured in miles—they’re measured in moments. Those extraordinary families taught her that courage isn’t loud. It is persistent. Hope isn’t wishful thinking. It is choosing to believe tomorrow can be brighter than today.
Those lessons found their way into her novels.
Determined to shine a light on a community too often overlooked, Theresa created Kayla Grisholm, a vibrant young heroine living with cerebral palsy and left-sided paraplegia. Kayla doesn’t ask readers for sympathy—she invites them to laugh, dream, love, and cheer her on. Through the Kayla’s Dream trilogy and the Christian novel Second Chances, published by West Bow Press, Theresa gently dismantles stereotypes. She reminds readers that every person deserves to be seen for their abilities, their dreams, and their capacity to love deeply.
Never one to stop exploring the human heart, Theresa’s newest book, We’ve Been There, celebrates another remarkable group of teachers—women over fifty. Fifty courageous women open their hearts to share stories of resilience, reinvention, unexpected joy, heartbreaking loss, second chances, and hard-earned wisdom. Their voices prove that life’s richest treasures are seldom found in perfection—they’re discovered in perseverance, faith, laughter, and the courage to keep moving forward.
At home, Theresa’s greatest love story continues with Bob, her high school sweetheart and husband. Together, they raised three remarkable daughters and now delight in the joyful chaos of grandchildren. She has happily discovered that sticky fingers, bedtime stories, spontaneous hugs, and even changing diapers are among life’s sweetest blessings.
Whether she’s writing fiction, sharing words of encouragement, or inviting readers into meaningful conversations, Theresa’s mission remains beautifully simple: to leave every person a little more hopeful than she found them.
She believes joy grows when it’s shared, wisdom multiplies when it’s passed on, and peace is cultivated one grateful heart at a time.
So, pull up a chair. Pour yourself a cup of tea—or perhaps a glass of wine—and join the conversation. We’d love to hear the nuggets of wisdom you’ve gathered along your own remarkable journey. After all, the best stories don’t simply entertain us,
They remind us that none of us walks this road alone.
